Dr. Ayaz Biviji

Dr. Ayaz Biviji is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and is fellowship trained in joint replacement surgery. He specializes in hip, knee and shoulder disorders including arthritis, sports injuries, and fractures. He has been a leader in robotic surgery and performed the first robotic hip replacement in Orange County in 2012. His areas of interest include less invasive joint replacements and arthroscopic surgeries, and he performs over 500 surgeries a year.

 

Dr. Biviji received his bachelor of science degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993, where he earned the Herman P. Schwann award given to the top engineer in his class and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He then attended the University of California, San Francisco for medical school and a residency in orthopedics, where he won awards for top resident and top research. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in joint replacement surgery and adult reconstruction at Scripps Hospital in San Diego.

 

In 2003, Dr. Biviji joined Kaiser Permanente in Orange County. Since 2006, he has been in private practice and on staff at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange. In 2014, he served as the chief of orthopedics for the hospital. He also serves on the orthopedic implant and Physician Link Advisory committees. Dr. Biviji remains committed to adopting the latest technologies and advancing patient care.

 

In his free time, Dr. Biviji enjoys playing the guitar, golfing, working out, and spending time with his wife and two children.  He also volunteers at the Orange County Courtyard homeless shelter in Santa Ana and at Lestonnac free medical clinic.

Dr. Denny Patel, DPT, CSCS

Dr. Denny Patel, DPT, CSCS received his bachelor’s degree in Life Science and a Master’s degree in physical Therapy in 1999 followed by a doctorate degree in physical therapy in 2009. He has been a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) since February 2000. As a California licensed physical therapist for over 21 years, Dr. Patel has provided physical therapy primarily in an outpatient orthopedic facility of which he was a co-owner. He continues to work in the clinical setting per diem. 

 

Currently Dr. Patel is an adjunct professor at CSU Fullerton, Coastline Community College, Santa Ana Community College, and Stanbridge University.  He teaches anatomy, pathology, medical terminology, movement control, and motor dysfunction at the collegiate level.  He also has been employed as an expert witness for Medicare and a sports consultant. He is married with 2 kids and just finished his first children's book titled, "Fun Anatomy Facts with Freddie the Fox."
